SPD4459 - Destination 9 - 【上環 Sheung Wan】摩羅上街 Upper Lascar Row

假如大家有看過前幾篇的博客，不難發現中上環除了商業大廈，還有很多特色的街道。這些街道正表現了香港中西匯萃的特色。 這一次SPD4459 的同學就會為大家帶來一處別具特色的街道－ 摩羅街。

These street show the charateristic of Hong Kong, which combined Chinese and Western Cultures. This time SPD4459 students will show you a distinctive street - Upper Lascar Row

摩羅街之所以會被稱爲摩羅街，是由於香港在開埠初期有大量印度人售賣貨品，而香港人喜歡把印度人稱為「摩羅差」，所以這條街就被稱為摩羅街。時至今日，就成為一個富有色彩的街道。

The name of Lascar Row is concerned with the Indian. Lascar was Arabic and Persian, originally referred to the soldiers and guard. Since Lascar Row was a place that gathered a lot of indians, it used the name "Ladcar"

摩羅上街位於香港上環，有很多售賣藝術品和古董的店舖，不少人在這裡尋寶呢！

Upper Lascar Row is located in Central, there are many shops selling art and antique.

這裡有一些特別的扇子，和畫作，都在可以街邊的攤檔看到。
Here are some special hand fan and paintings.

走進摩羅街，彷彿走進50年代的香港，這裡有西方的古董，也有東方的字畫。不同地區的文化，匯聚成香港獨有的特色。

Walking into the Lascar Row, it is like walking into the 1950s in Hong Kong. It is selling Western antiques and Oriental Paintings. Culture of different regions become Hong Kong's unique characteristics.

We can also see the 1950s Hong Kong movie poster here. If you are a fan  of Bruce Lee, you should come and see if you can find his poster!

1. 這邊的古董或雜貨都隨街擺放，請小心碰跌。

2. 假如找到心頭好，不妨試試跟店主講價，他們都聽得懂中文和英文的。

1. The antique or groceries are placed in the side of the street, please be careful not to touch down! 2. If you find anything you like, try to bargain with the owner. Most of them can understand Chinese and English.

交通方法：

從港鐵中環站 D2出口右轉至戲院里，沿皇后大道中往中環中心方向走，然後搭乘中環至半山自動扶梯往荷李活道。

Transportation:
MTR Central Station, Exit D2. Turn right onto Theatre Lane and walk along Queen's Road Central towards The Center. Then take the Central Mid - Levels Escalator to Hollywood Road .
